After a load of direction and help from Eric, I've finally got my main machine back up and running. It turned out to be (so far) a motherboard issue, and thanks to the wicked ATI RMA department, I have an upgrade from a Radeon 9800 XT, to a Radeon x800 Pro! I'm beaming.
