Today is a great day. This morning, as of 11:30am CST, I am officially a student of the University of Manitoba, and I feel like I'm back where I belong. I feel more determined, more clear, like I've just hopped onto the right road to the career of my dreams. I woke up this morning, very groggy, but was able to wipe away the haze and get working.
The day before I had dropped by the campus, and ensured I was removed from the Honours program, and moved to a General B.A. with a major in Political Studies, and a minor in History. While I was looking into which classes I would take, I found out I only have 36 more credit hours left before I would successfully complete my Bachelors degree. That means I could easily finish my B.A. in the next two years of study.
This fall, I've decided to take a decent amount of classes to ensure not to overload myself, so I can put as much effort towards the school work as possible. I've elected to take 21 credit hours this year, in the following courses:
- Introduction to Comparative Politics
- Introduction to International Relations
- Introduction to Canadian Government
- History of the Soviet Union
I'm so excited to take these courses over the next year, especially the Soviet Union history class. The plan is to take a the "History of Russia to 1917" perhaps next session. I've got to really make sure I put all of the effort I can this go 'round, as I need to move my GPA up at least a full point, so I can successfully apply for Law School.
