I've been trying to decide on which script to use for my site, as I really need a good photo section of my site. I need a script that is easy to customize, powerful, and can greatly reduce the size of pictures on the server, while still having the full size available. I want to use the Gallery script, but I've seen it's very hard to customize, and with my design I'm not sure if it will work well.
The other option I'm looking at is Coppermine which is a bit newer then Gallery, but is more customizable, from what I can tell. I've been fiddling around with Coppermine most of the day, but I can't seem to get any of the PHP functions I want to work within it, and making it look good is seeming to take a bit more effort then I originally thought.
But I may just be frustrated, and I'll continue my quest to get my photos section of the site up later this week. If you have any insights or useful links regarding customizing gallery, please be sure to let me know.
